HOT TEXAS SCRAMBLE EVENT
August 12, 2022
Riverside Golf Course
Tournament Divisions:
COMPETITIVE DIVISION: Individual Stroke(18 hole Play) All individual stroke competitors will play from the black tees. There will be a girls division if we have at least 4 participants.
NOTE: These golfers should be comfortable playing from the black tees at Victoria and Riverside. They should be used to playing by the rules of golf and adhering to the core values of golf : honesty, integrity, sportsmanship and respect. They require little supervision.
NON COMPETITIVE DIVISION: Texas Scramble Team(18 hole Play)
Texas scramble format is where all members of the team tee off and the best drive is selected. All the teams then hits the next shot from that spot. The best shot is selected on each set of shots until the ball is holed out. This is a fun format with much less stress. We just want the kids to get out and play, have fun and meet other kids. Team will be made up of 3 or 4 kids of varying ages.
NOTE: These golfers will feel more comfortable playing from the white tees at Victoria and Riverside. They don’t yet have the extent of golf experience to be comfortable with playing in a competitive division in a golf tournament.
Golf Experience Levels:
Novice: Those with little experience with golfing. They are still learning the basics of the game ( grip, swing ) and don’t know all the basic rules of golf yet. They generally feel more comfortable on par 3 courses or playing 9 holes on easier full-size courses. Keeping score is not a high priority for them.
Intermediate: Those with more experience on the course. They have a comfort level playing 18 holes on a full-size course and like to keep score to track their progress. They are knowledgeable about the basic rules of golf and are able to properly conduct themselves on a golf course without outside supervision. They have a good understanding of grip and swing basics.
Advanced: Those who have achieved a higher skill level in golf and like to enter tournaments to test their skills against others. They would also track their scores so they can keep a registered handicap. They like to play a variety of courses and tee positions to challenge their own game. They have a good understanding of both the basic and more advanced rules in the golf rulebook.
Parents/Adults will not be permitted on the course to caddy or coach. All registered participants must be able to carry their clubs for the duration of the rounds. No motorized golf carts will be allowed. Rental pull/push cards available for extra fee at members expense.
