    A HUGE big thank you to everyone who came out to our Season Wind Up event on September 14th. 

    We had 14 teams (parent & juniors) who enjoyed a 2 person Texas Scramble event at Rundle Golf Course.

    Two teams tied for 1st place with each team scoring 57 -  Henry Russell(and dad) & Carter Veenstra (and uncle).

    3rd Place team was Katherine Yee(and dad) who scored a close 58.

    Closest to the pin (hole 9) went to Henry Russell

    Longest putt (hole 18) went to Arran Green

    Draw prize winner was Essien Kaida 

    What a perfect way and day to end our tournament season!

    RVJG  held its annual Club Championship on August 23, 2024 at Victoria Golf Course. 

    It was a great day for the eleven juniors who participated; 6 of which participated in the competitive division and 5 in the non competitive division. 

    Competitive division results are as follows: 

    1st place: Harrison Wells, score 76, $100 prize

    2nd place: Arran Green, score 77, $75 prize

    3rd place: Ryan Micheals, score 81, $50 prize

    Draw prizes went to Henry Russell and Adam Charkawi

    Great job everyone!

    What a perfect day for the HOT Texas Scramble... 12 juniors came out for  the event at Riverside GC on August 8th.

    Winner winner chicken dinner... Maddox Jabbour-Hage and Matheus Jabbour-Hage came in 1st place with a score of 72.

    Matheus also got the longest putt on hole 18 and Maddox got the longest drive on hole 5.

    Way to go boys!

    Draw prizes went to Lucas Mullen and Serena Kim. 

    Thanks to everyone who came out for a day of fun.  Join us at our next event, The Club Championship - should be exciting!

    Summer holidays is in full swing and so were some of our juniors...

      


    We had 10 juniors participate in The Drive Your Future Event at Victoria GC on July 12th.

    The juniors participated in a 4 person scramble event.  Tournament scores were as follows: 

    • 1st place (73)  Owen G.,  Katie M., James C. and Essien K.

    • 2nd Place (78)  Hudson K., Grady M. and  Bradley C.
    • 3rd place (81)  Lincoln A., Malcolm M. and Tegan F.

                           

    Proximity prize winners went to: 

    • KP hole 7- James C.
    • LP hole 9    Lincoln A.
    • KP hole 12  Malcolm M.
    • LP hole 18  James C.
    • And Draw prizes went to: Katie, Grady and Malcolm

    School is officially out... Bring on the  fun, sun and golf!

    Our juniors participated in the Schools Out event and here are the days highlights: 

    1st Place Team (also known as RVJ2)  had a score of 60. Team members Eric Davidson, Connor Verhage and Toren Nott. Prize: $25 cheque each

    Proxy prizes winners:  Closest to the Pin (hole 9) was Connor Verhage and Longest Putt (hole 18) was Katherine Yee - each received a Booster Juice gift card. 

    Draw Prize Winners of a RVJG Ball cap  went to Oscar Hanssen, Katherine Yee and Eric Davidson.

    Best Team Name contest: 

    Names submitted were: 

    RVJ2, Chicken Strips, and Blue 

    Drum roll please... Winner and Bragging rights goes to Chicken Strips! (picture below: Oscar, Malcolm and Lincoln:)

    RVJG's first event of the season was a great success!

    Fourteen teams of juniors & adults weathered the smoky skies and golfed 18 holes at Rundles par 3 golf course. 

     A big shout out to our tournament winners: 

    1st Place Prize ($25 cheque): Zachary Peters, score 61

    2nd Place Prize ($25 cheque): Matthew Li, score 63


    Draw Prize Winners of a RVJG Ball cap and bag tag went to Brayden Clark, Ivar Lewis,  and Jake Carlson

    Also, can't help but thank our parent volunteers,  Rolf Vinebrooke, Richard Cho and Rob Wilson for helping out, it was much appreciated!

    Practice... Practice...  Practice...


    Full swings, chipping, pitching, putting or sand shots...  Victoria Driving Range is now open for all your practicing needs. 


    As a River Valley Junior Golf member, you have access to one free small bucket of balls per day (for personal use only). Simply present your RVJG ID card and give your name to driving range staff to obtain your free bucket, then swing away!

    Harrison Wells

    River Valley Junior Golf's own Harrison Wells will be heading off to Arizona this November as part of the MJT.  We wish him well as he competes in this exciting tournament.  Please see attached interview for an exclusive with Harrison :)

    Thanks to all who came out to our last tournament of the season:

    We had 13 teams consisting of juniors and adults compete in our End of Season Wind Up event last Saturday at Rundle GC.

    Each team competed in the 2 person Texas Scramble and the following prizes were awarded: 

    1st place team: Tim & Mike Chizewski, score 58, prize $75 cheque to junior

    2nd place team: Bradley & Richard Cho, score 59, prize $50 cheque to junior

    3rd place team: Matt & Katherine Yee, score 60*, prize $25 cheque to junior

    *Honorable mention goes to:  Zach & Phil Peters who also scored 60 therefore the countback rule was used to determine the winning team. 

    The longest putt (hole #6) went to Zach Peters and the closest to the pin (hole #9) went to Casey Fedynak.  Each of these juniors received a $10 Booster Juice gift card and a Goat track Social club merchandise pack.

    Katherine Yee also received a Goat Track merchandise pack for the female with the lowest score. And Jahryd Wing whose guess of 210 won him  a $10 Booster juice card for the most accurate guess in the # tees in jar contest, which by the way was 279.

    Three draws prizes of RVJG merchandise packs were awarded to: Daniel McMullen, James Choo and Timothy Chizewski.

    A great BIG thanks goes to Goat Track Social Club for their donated gift packs. And we can't forget all the parent volunteers who helped out with this event and all season long... THANK YOU!

    Thanks to everyone who joined RVJG club this year... What a way to finish strong!
